    Let \(S_k = Z^k_1 + \cdots + Z^k_n\), where \(Z_j\) are complex numbers such that \(\min |Z_j |= 1\) and \(S_1 = 0\). Denote \(M_n = \inf \max_{1 \leq k \leq n} |S_k |\). The problem of evaluating \(M_n\) was raised by P. TurĂ¡n and studied by many mathematicians. The author improves their results by showing that \[ 1 + {1 - 55/ \log n \over \log n} \leq M_n \leq 2 + {3 \pi^2/2 + o(1) \over n}. \]
