In an earlier paper [Mathematika 37, No. 1, 106-118 (1990; Zbl 0706.51021)], the authors described a class of abstract regular polytopes of type \(\{3, 3, p\}\), with \(p\) an odd prime. In this paper, such polytopes \(\{3, 3, r\}\) are found for general \(r\). They are derived from certain quotients of groups of \(2 \times 2\) matrices whose entries are Gaussian integers. In fact, the constructions actually led to chiral polytopes, which (roughly speaking) only have the rotation group of symmetries, rather than the full possible group. There may be several polytopes corresponding to the same \(r\); these can arise from different choices of central subgroups of the base group.
