Discontinuity in sensitivity of elastoplastic bifurcation loads of finite-dimensional symmetric structures (Q1807013)

The author analyzes the discontinuity in elastoplastic bifurcation load factor and the sensitivity coefficients of finite-dimensional structures subjected to symmetric proportional loads. The tapered sandwiched column is treated in detail. It is shown that the tracing of yield points in conjunction with interpolation technique is the most effective approach for finding bifurcation load and design sensitivity coefficients.
