Large deviation principles (LDPs) are established for the Fleming-Viot processes with neutral mutation and selection and the corresponding equilibrium measures as the sampling rate tends to zero. In the first main result the LDP is proved for the sequence of reversible measures. The sequence is shown to converge to the probability fixed point exponentially fast the deviation being characterized by the relative entropy. In the second principal result a path level LDP is established, which may be viewed as a Freidlin-Wentzell-type result in infinite dimension.
