Let \(G\) be a reductive \(p\)-adic group. Let \(J\) denote a compact open subgroup of \(G\) and \(\tau\) an irreducible representation of \(J\). If \((J,\tau)\) is a type for \(G\), then the category \(R_\tau(G)\) of smooth representations of \(G\) which are generated by their \(\tau\)-isotypic subspace is equivalent to the category \(H(G,\tau)-\text{Mod}\) of modules over the Hecke algebra of \(\tau\)-spherical functions on \(G\) [cf. \textit{C. J. Bushnell} and \textit{P. C. Kutzko}, Proc. Lond. Math. Soc. 77, 582-634 (1998; Zbl 0911.22014)]. Let \(M \subset G\) be a Levi subgroup. Let \((J_M,\tau_M)\) be a type for \(M\). In [op. cit.] the notion of \(G\)-cover of \((J_M,\tau_M)\) is defined and it is proved that, if \((J,\tau)\) is a \(G\)-cover of \((J_M,\tau_M)\), then \((J,\tau)\) is a type for \(G\) and parabolic induction from \(R_{\tau_M}(M)\) to \(R_\tau(G)\) is equivalent with a functor from \(H(M,\tau_M)-\text{Mod}\) to \(H(G,\tau)-\text{Mod}\) which comes from an embedding of \(H(M,\tau_M)\) into \(H(G,\tau)\). The present paper treats the example where \(G=\text{Sp}_4\), \(M\) is a maximal Levi subgroup, \((J_M,\tau_M)\) is a type corresponding to the inertial class of an irreducible supercuspidal representation of \(M\). Since \(M\) is isomorphic to \(\text{GL}_2\) or \(\text{GL}_1\times\text{SL}_2\), such types for \(M\) are known. For these types \(G\)-covers are constructed.
