The authors analyze the construction of the completion of a Banach space relatively to an inclusion in another Banach space. Characterizations of the so-called regular inclusion where the original space is a subspace of its completion and some other related notions of inclusion of Banach spaces are obtained. The problem of iteration of the completion is shown to be strictly related with that of factorizing an inclusion in a finite number of regular inclusions.
