Generalized optimal lattice covering of finite-dimensional Euclidean space (Q1809105)

The authors present a generalization of the problem of optimal lattice covering of Euclidean \(n\)-space \(\mathbb{R}^n\). Instead of the Euclidean norm, they consider a general norm \(\|u\|_A= \sqrt{u^T Au}\) induced by a positive definite matrix \(A\). The solution of the generalized problem is given for two classes of lattices in \(\mathbb{R}^n\), and for every lattice in \(\mathbb{R}^2\). An application to nonlinear signal processing is described.
