The authors make a slight extension of Theorem 3 of \textit{O. Nevanlinna} and \textit{S. Reich} [Isr. J. Math. 32, 44-58 (1979; Zbl 0427.47049)] and show that this implies Theorem 1 of \textit{C. E. Chidume} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 192, No. 2, 502-518 (1995; Zbl 0868.47040)] which concerns the strong convergence of the Mann iteration process for continuous strongly accretive operators. They make a further extension of the theorem of Nevanlinna and Reich to deal with the Ishikawa iteration process for a class of strongly quasi-accretive operators.
