      The authors investigate the stability of local extrema on integral curves \(x(y)\) and \(x^*(y)\) arising, respectively, in the systems of equations \[ a(x,y){dy\over dt}= 1,\quad {dx\over dt}= y,\quad x\in\mathbb{R},\;y\in\mathbb{R},\;a\in C^1, \] and \[ [a(x,y)+ \varepsilon b(x,y)]{dy\over dt}= 1,\quad x\in \mathbb{R},\;y\in\mathbb{R},\;b\in C^1,\;\varepsilon\in\mathbb{R}, \] for \(|\varepsilon|\) small enough.
