In this note the following theorem, related to \textit{K. F. Roth}'s theorem [Mathematika 2, 1--20 (1955); corrigendum ibid. 2, 168 (1955; Zbl 0064.28501)], is proved: Let \(\pi\) be a set of primes, \(\xi\) a non-zero real algebraic number. Then for any real \(\delta>0\) there are at most finitely many integers \(P\) and \(Q>0\), composed only of the primes in \(\pi\), such that \[ 0<| \xi-P/Q| <1/Q^{\delta}. \]
