The author studies conditions for the unique solvability of the inverse problem of determining a pair of functions \(\{u(x,t),f(x)\}\) satisfying the equation \[ \begin{cases} \rho(t,x) u_t-\Delta u= f(x)g(t,x)+ h(t,x),\\ u(0,x)= u_0(x),\\ u(t,x)= 0,\;t\in [0,T],\;x\in\partial\Omega,\end{cases}\tag{1} \] and the overdetermination condition \[ u(T, x)= \varphi(x),\qquad x\in\Omega,\tag{2} \] where \(\Omega\) is a bounded domain in \(\mathbb{R}^n\) with smooth boundary \(\partial\Omega\). The author presents several versions of the conditions providing the local solvability (in the generalized sense) of (1)--(2) as well as the theorem on the Fredholm solvability of the inverse problem under study.
