Convective flows in liquid phase are always present in a realistic process of freezing and melting. The study of the interplay of dendritic growth and convective flow during solidification is a new important subject in the broad field of material science, condensed matter physics, fluid physics, micro-gravity science etc. This book is concerned with the dynamics of free dendritic growth in the presence of a convective flow in the melt. The subject is systematically presented. However, many significant problems in this field are open. A list of such problems is compiled by the author. The reviewer would add to this list a number of problems where the effects of external oscillations and external magnetic field on the dendritic growth can be important. Thus, the reviewer highly recommends this book to research workers in the field of viscous convective flows who want to apply this well elaborated theory to the study of dendritic growth.
