    The well known Lebesgue inequality \[ \| f(x)-{a_ 0 \over 2}- \sum_{k=1}^{n-1} (a_ k(f)\cos kx+b_ k(f)\sin kx)\| _{C\langle 0,2\pi\rangle}\leq ({4 \over \pi^ 2} \ln n+R_ n)E_ n(f), | R| \leq 4, \] where \(f\in C\langle 0,2\pi\rangle, \| f\| _{C\langle 0,2\pi\rangle}=\hbox{max}_ x | f(x)|\), is a continuous \(2\pi\)-periodic function on \(\langle 0,2\pi\rangle\) and \(E_ n(f)\) is the quantity of its best approximation by trigonometric polynomials of degree \(n-1\), is generalized to the classes \(C_ \beta^ \psi{\mathcal H}\) defined as follows: Let \(\psi(v), 1\leq v<\infty\), be a convex function, \(\lim_{n\to \infty} \psi(v)=0\), \(\beta\) a fixed real number. Let \(f\in L(0,2\pi)\) be an integrable \(2\pi\)-periodic function and \({a_ 0 \over 2}+\sum_{k=1}^ \infty (a_ k \cos kx+b_ k \sin kx)\) its Fourier series expansion. Suppose that \[ \sum_{k=1}^ \infty {1 \over \psi(k)} (a_ k \cos (kx+{\beta \pi \over 2})+b_ k \sin (kx+{\beta \pi \over 2})) \] is the Fourier series expansion of some function \(f_ \beta^ \psi\in L(0,2\pi)\), the so called \((\psi,\beta)\) derivative of \(f\). Then \(C_ \beta^ \psi\) is the subset of all continuous functions in \(L(0,2\pi)\) having the \((\psi,\beta)\)-derivative and \(C_ \beta^ \psi{\mathcal H},{\mathcal H}\subset L(0,2\pi)\), is the set of all \(f\in C_ \beta^ \psi\) for which \(f_ \beta^ \psi\in {\mathcal H}\). In the paper \(C\langle 0,2\pi\rangle\) with the uniform norm is chosen for \({\mathcal H}\).
