Let \(\Omega\subset\mathbb{C}^ n\) be a pseudoconvex domain of the form \(\Omega=\{v\in\mathbb{C}^ n\mid r(v)<0\}\). Here \(r(v)=\text{Re} v_ 1+\sum^ n_{j=2}P_ j(v_ j)+\sum_{j<k}P_{jk}(v_ j,v_ k)\) is a real-valued plurisubharmonic polynomial without pluriharmonic terms such that (1) with certain positive integers \(m_ 2,\dots,m_ n\) one has \(r(\lambda v_ 1,\lambda^{1/2m_ 2}v_ 2,\dots,\lambda^{1/2m_ n}v_ n)=\lambda r(v)\), for any positive \(\lambda\) and any \(v\in\mathbb{C}^ n\), (2) with a small enough positive \(s\) also the function \(r-s\sum^ n_{j=2}| v_ j|^{2m_ j}\) is plurisubharmonic in \(\mathbb{C}^ n\). We estimate the boundary behavior of the Carathéodory and Kobayashi pseudodifferential metrics of \(\Omega\) precisely. The estimates generalize those which were obtained by D. Catlin for pseudoconvex domains of finite type in \(\mathbb{C}^ 2\). Further we show that each boundary point of \(\Omega\) is a peak point with respect to the algebra \(A^ 0(\Omega)\) of all functions which are holomorphic on \(\Omega\) and continuous on the closure of \(\Omega\).
