A classical result concerning finite permutation groups, due to Frobenius and extended by Thompson, states that a transitive permutation group in which only the identity fixes two or more points has a regular normal subgroup that is soluble, and hence nilpotent as well. As the analogous statement is not true for all infinite permutation groups, it is reasonable to examine those special classes of them for which the analogue can be formulated and proved. One of them is the class of locally finite groups which was proved by \textit{O. H. Kegel} and \textit{B. A. F. Wehrfritz} [in Locally Finite Groups, North-Holland, Amsterdam/London (1973; Zbl 0259.20001) p. 51]. In the note under review, the author formulates and proves the analogous statement for the class of Frobenius groups satisfying a slightly weaker assumption than local finiteness, and containing locally finite groups as a special case.
