Let \(H^ n\) be the \(n\)-dimensional real hyperbolic space, and let \(\Xi\) be the space of totally geodesic \(k\)-dimensional submanifolds of \(H^ n\). For each \(\xi\in\Xi\) and \(f\in C^ \infty_ 0(H^ n)\) let \(Rf(\xi)=\int_ \xi f(x) dm(x)\) be the Radon transform of \(f\), where \(m\) is the induced measure. Let \(\Xi_ x\) be the set of elements of \(\Xi\) passing through \(x\in H^ n\) and \(\mu_ x\) the invariant measure on \(\Xi_ x\). The backprojection \(R^*\) is defined for \(\phi\in C(\Xi)\) by \(R^*\phi(x)=\int_{\Xi_ x}\phi(\xi) d\mu_ x(\xi)\). Inversion formulas for \(R\) of the form \(f=cq(\Delta)R^*Rf\) are derived where \(c\) is constant and \(q(\Delta)\) is a polynomial in the Laplace- Beltrami operator \(\Delta\) on \(H^ n\).
