The authors consider gauge field theories in odd dimensional space-time (\(n\geq 3\)) with action consisting of Chern-Simons and Yang-Mills terms. They study the problem of quantization CSYM theories. They prove that it is possible to quantize CSYM models in a straightforward canonical formalism (in contrast to their pure CS counterparts for \(n\geq 3).\) They consider in detail the special case when the gauge group is Abelian. They investigate the relations between quantized CSYM model and even dimensional current algebra, including anomalous contribution.
