Two spaces having homeomorphic maximal perfect irreducible preimages are called coabsolute. The author examines this notion both in separable and nonseparable cases among absolute irreducible Borel sets of higher classes. Coabsoluteness of all absolute irreducible \(G_{\delta}\)-sets follows from a result of \textit{V. I. Ponomarev}[Sov. Math., Dokl. 4 (1963), 1777--1780 (1964); translation from Dokl. Akad. Nauk SSSR 153, 1013--1016 (1963; Zbl 0127.38701)] whereas for separable \(F_{\sigma}\)-sets this property was proved by \textit{J. van Mill} and \textit{R. G. Woods} [Can. Math. Bull. 25, 41--47 (1982; Zbl 0431.54006)]. The author studies coabsoluteness also in families of ambiguous sets of class 3 in Polish spaces and absolute irreducible hyper-Borel sets of the first category.
