Let \(A\) be a finite-dimensional algebra over a commutative field \(k\). The objective of the paper is to describe the torsion pair (or the torsion theory) in the category \(\text{mod }A\) of finitely generated right \(A\)-modules, using the methods of the representation theory of algebras. The first main theorem of the paper gives an explicit construction of all torsion pairs over \(A\) having as an \(\text{Ext}\)-projective torsion module a fixed partial tilting module, where \(\tau=\text{DTr}\). After giving the complete classification of the splitting torsion pairs over hereditary algebras, the authors consider a torsion pair over a representation-infinite hereditary algebra such that all postprojective modules are torsion-free and all preinjective modules are torsion. Then they study the case in which the torsion pair has no non-zero Ext-projective torsion modules and no non-zero Ext-injective torsion-free modules.
