    The author first establishes a transformation formula for partial sums of hypergeometric series of the form, \[ \begin{multlined} _{s+3} F_{s+2} \left[\left.\begin{matrix} a,b,c,a_1, \dots, a_s \\ 1+a-b, 1+a-c, p_1, \dots, p_s \end{matrix} \right|z\right]_m= \\ =\sum^m_{r=0} A(r)(-4z)^r{_{s+1} F_s} \left[\left.\begin{matrix} a+2r, a_1+r, \dots, a_s+r \\ p_1+r, \dots, p_s+r \end{matrix} \right|z \right]_{m-r}, \end{multlined} \] where \(A(r)\) is a Pochhammer symbol fraction. Further transformations are obtained by comparison with some of the classical transformations of terminating hypergeometric series. Next, zero-balanced series are considered, and asymptotic expressions for the partial sums \(_{j+1} F_j[1]_m\) as \(m\to \infty\) are deduced, i.e., the \(\log m\) term and the finite term. Some particular cases are also considered.
