Angles between Euclidean subspaces (Q1815256)

Using exterior algebra, the author considers the angle \(\theta\) between two subspaces of dimensions \(p\) and \(q\) in an Euclidean space. He first generalizes some well-known properties of angles to the higher-dimensional case, and then proves a result analogous to the triangle inequality. He obtains a simple relation between the higher-dimensional angle \(\theta\) and the principal angles \(\theta_1, \theta_2, \dots, \theta_p\) [see \textit{J. M. Miao} and \textit{A. Ben-Israel}, Linear Algebra Appl. 171, 81-98 (1992; Zbl 0779.15003)]. Finally, he briefly discusses an application to Grassmann manifolds.
