Call ``angle property of opening \(\alpha\) of an open plane set \(\Omega\)'' the property that every point of the set's boundary \(\partial \Omega\) is a vertex of an open angle of opening \(\alpha\) such that the angle does not intersect the set \(\Omega\). This paper examines the problem of finding the maximum length of the perimeter of a plane set \(S\) with the angle property of opening \(\alpha \{0< \alpha \leq \pi)\). Plane sets having this property and a fixed diameter have rectifiable boundaries the lengths of which are uniformly bounded. In order to find an upper bound for the perimeter of such curves, plane curves which satisfy the angle property in a finite number of directions are first considered and one of maximum length is determined. Then the perimeter of any plane set having the angle property is examined, and the author proves that if the set has fixed diameter \(d\), its perimeter is less or equal to \((\pi d)/(\sin \alpha/2)^2\); furthermore he shows that this is the best possible estimate.
