Let \(X\) be a Riemannian surface with a projective structure (i.e., a covering by coordinate charts such that the transition functions are of the form \(z\to (az+b)/(cz+d))\). Let \(L\) be a line bundle on \(X\) such that \(L^2=T_X\). Let \(J^m(L^{\otimes n})\to X\) denote the jet bundle of order \(m\) for the line bundle \(L^{\otimes n}\). For \(i\geq j\), there is a natural restriction homomorphism from \(J^i(L^n)\) onto \(J^j(L^n)\). In the present paper, the author proves that \(J^n(L^n)\) has a natural flat connection and for any \(m\geq n\), the surjective homomorphism \(J^m(L^n)\to J^n(L^n)\) admits a canonical splitting (Theorem 4.1).
