A geometric approach to the linear trace Harnack inequality for the Ricci flow (Q1815699)

In their previous paper [\textit{B. Chow} and \textit{S. C. Chu}, Math. Res. Lett. 2, No. 6, 701-718 (1995; Zbl 0856.53030)] the authors discovered a relation between Hamilton's matrix Harnack quadratic and the geometry of the space-time equipped with a special degenerate Riemannian metric. In this paper they show how one can approach the linear trace Harnack inequality from this point of view. The construction allows the authors to obtain generalizations in many directions. In particular, the result of the above-mentioned paper is generalized for the Ricci flow modified by an arbitrary one-parameter family of diffeomorphisms, etc.
