The author presents the researches of the French geometer Eugène Dewulf (1831-1896) on Islamic medieval manuscripts in mathematics. The paper includes a biography of Dewulf, a presentation of his contributions to geometry and archaeology and of his translations into French of the works of Steiner and Cremona.
