Let \(\Gamma=\text{SL}(m,\mathbb{Z})\) be the special linear group over the integers. Let \(r+s=m\), and \(\Gamma_0(n;r,s)\) be the congruence subgroup of \(\Gamma\) consisting of those matrices \(\left[\begin{smallmatrix} A & B\\ C & D\end{smallmatrix}\right]\), where \(A\in M_r(\mathbb{Z})\), \(B\in M_{r,s}(\mathbb{Z})\), \(C\in M_{s,r}(\mathbb{Z})\), \(D\in M_s(\mathbb{Z})\) and \(C\equiv 0\bmod n\) entrywise. Two elements \(X,Y\in\Gamma\) are equivalent to each other if there exist \(U,V\in\Gamma_0(n;r,s)\) such that \(X=UYV\). The first author gave a complete double-coset decomposition for \(\Gamma\) with respect to \(\Gamma_0(n;r,s)\) in the case of \(r=s=1\) and the case of \(r\neq s\), respectively. The present paper completes the general result by solving the case of \(r=s\).
