The authors study the effects of viscosity and elasticity stratification on interfacial instabilities of symmetric and asymmetric three-layer superposed pressure-driven channel flows. The investigation is performed theoretically using linear stability analysis. It is observed that the presence of an additional interface has a significant effect on the flow stability.
