It is well known, mostly due to Grothendieck, the equivalence in dimension one between objects locally isomorphic to a given one, descent data, Čech one-cocycles and torsors [\textit{J. Giraud}, ``Méthode de la descente'', Bull. Soc. Math. France Suppl., Mém. No. 2 (1964) (1965; Zbl 0211.32902); ``Cohomologie non abélienne'', Grundlehren Math. Wiss. 179 (1971; Zbl 0226.14011)]. The authors outline an extension of these equivalences to dimension two. Some partial results of the presented have been established by \textit{J. Duskin} [Bull. Soc. Math. Belg., Sér. A 41, No. 2, 249-277 (1989; Zbl 0781.18004)], and the notions used were not unknown to Grothendieck.
