An important question is formulated in summary: whether or not there exists a stress rate \(\overset\circ\tau^*\) such that the hypoelastic equation of grade zero with this stress rate is exactly integrable in order to define an elastic relation? If the answer is affirmative, what is or are such stress rate(s)? The answer for these questions is crucial to the construction of self-consistent Eulerian rate type formulations of finite inelasticity models. The main result of this article: among all possible (infinitely many) objective corotational stress rates and other well-known objective stress rates \(\overset\circ\tau^*\), there is one and only one such that the hypoelastic equation of grade zero with this stress rate is exactly integrable to define a hyperelastic relation. Moreover, it is shown that this stress rate is just the logarithmic stress rate. The basic properties of logarithmic strain and objective corotational rates are considered in a special subsection. An extensive list of references concludes the paper.
