Let \(M\) be a contact strongly pseudo-convex integrable CR manifold, that is, \((M,\eta,\xi, \phi,g)\) is a contact metric manifold [\textit{D. Blair}, Lect. Notes Math. 509 (1976; Zbl 0319.53026)] with the complex distribution \(\{X-iJ X|X\in D\}\) integrable, where \(J\) denotes the restriction of the (1,1)-tensor field \(\phi\) to the contact subbundle \(D\) (defined by \(\eta=0)\). For \(\dim M>3\), the authors prove the following: (i) if \(M\) is locally symmetric and \(\dim M\neq 7\), then \(M\) is locally isometric to either \(S^{2n+1}(1)\) or \(E^{n+1} \times S^n(4)\); (ii) if the characteristic vector field \(\xi\) is an eigenvector of the Ricci tensor at each point of \(M\), then: (a) the assertion (i) holds also in dimension 7; (b) \(M\) is locally isometric to \(S^{2n+1}(1)\), provided \(M\) is conformally flat.
