Existence for minimization in Banach space with some applications (Q1819354)

The authors give existence theorems for the minimization of lower semicontinuous functionals on the intersection of finitely many half spaces. The level sets are assumed to be bounded and the Gâteaux derivative of the objective has to be of a certain structure. The results are applied to optimal control problems and parameter identification problems for distributed parameter systems.
