    A compact space X is said to be a Corson compact if there exists a cardinal \(\kappa\) such that X can be embedded into \(\{f\in [0,1]^{\kappa}:| \{\alpha <\kappa:\) \(f(\alpha)\neq 0\}| \leq \aleph_ 0\}\). The main result: If X is a Baire space and K a Corson compact, then any mapping \(f: X\to C(K,{\mathbb{R}})\) which is continuous when C(K,\({\mathbb{R}})\) has the topology of pointwise convergence, is continuous, when C(K,\({\mathbb{R}})\) has the topology of uniform convergence, at some residual subset of X. The proof makes clever use of the Banach-Mazur game. The result generalizes the cases where X is a Baire space and K metric, and X complete metric or locally compact, and K compact [see \textit{I. Namioka}, Pac. J. Math. 51, 515-531 (1974; Zbl 0294.54010)]. For a completely regular space, the converse of the main result is true.
