The author investigates the minimum value of the permanent on two faces of the \(n\times n\) doubly stochastic matrices. The faces are determined by two types of bipartite graphs. It is shown that this minimum value of these faces is at least \((1/2)^{n-1}\). The author verifies his tie point conjecture on the first of these faces.
