This is a continuation of work of \textit{I. B. S. Passi} and \textit{L. R. Vermani} in Part I [J. Pure Appl. Algebra 30, 61-67 (1983; Zbl 0518.20004)]. ''Let T denote the additive group of the rationals mod 1 and let G be a multiplicative group. Regard T as a trivial G-module. A 2- cocycle \(f: G\times G\to T\) is called a polynomial 2-cocycle of degree \(\leq n\) if the linear extension of f to ZG\(\times ZG\) vanishes on \(ZG\times \Delta^{n+1}(G)\), where \(\Delta\) (G) is the augmentation ideal of the integral group ring ZG. Let \(P_ nH^ 2(G,T)\) be the subgroup of the Schur multiplicator \(H^ 2(G,T)\) consisting of those cohomology classes which possess polynomial 2-cocycles of degree \(\leq n\) as representatives. It is not known whether, for every nilpotent group G, there exists an integer n such that \(P_ nH^ 2(G,T)=H^ 2(G,T).''\) It is shown here that if G is a torsion free nilpotent group of class c, then \(P_{3c+1}H^ 2(G,T)=H^ 2(G,T)\). Furthermore if G is a divisible nilpotent group of class c, then \(P_ cH^ 2(G,T)=H^ 2(G,T)\).
