An algorithm is discussed for solving first-order hyperbolic equations whose solution may exhibit very steep and changing gradients (shock-like) and large dynamic range. In developing the algorithm, emphasis has been placed on obtaining more accurate solutions. The algorithm is based on flux corrected transport techniques.
