In this paper, a model of the universal Teichmüller space is investigated. The model given in this paper is a set of functions log f'(z), where f(z) is holomorphic and univalent on the unit disk \(\Delta =\{| z| <1\}\) and quasiconformal on the whole plane \({\mathbb{C}}\). This set is denoted by \({\mathcal B}_ Q\) and considered as a subset of the Banach space of functions F(z) which are holomorphic on \(\Delta\) with \[ | F| =| F(0)| +\sup (1-| z|^ 2)| F'(z)| <\infty. \] It is proved that the set \({\mathcal B}_ Q\) is not connected with its natural topology. All the connectivity components of \({\mathcal B}_ Q\) are described, and some properties of the boundary of \({\mathcal B}_ Q\) are obtained. It is shown that the properties of this model of universal Teichmüller space are quite different from those of the model given by L. Bers.
