The unification of gravity and electromagnetism in a unique geometrical theory has been the concern of many authors. In this paper a new proposal of unification is developed in a Weyl space-time structure. This New Weyl Theory (NWT) introduces a complex metric and affine connection to overcome some problems in the original Weyl theory. Although the metric and connection are complex, it is shown that in all classical cases the results obtained are real - the manifold is real. The field equations of the NWT are given by two sets of self-consistent equations where the first corresponds to a generalization of Einstein equations and the second, with no counterpart in the Einstein theory, gives an algebraic relation determining the homothetical curvature. These equations show that the NWT is in agreement with all known experimental tests of General Relativity and with the classical limit of the pure electromagnetic field. The geodesics in the NWT for uncharged test particles are the same as in general relativity and the autoparallel curves have no physical meaning as in the Weyl theory.
