An algorithm is derived for constructing spatially-homogeneous perfect fluid solutions of Einstein's field equations which are of Bianchi type-I and are locally rotationally-symmetric. Starting from \textit{S. S. Bayin} and \textit{J. P. Krisch} solution [J. Math. Phys. 27, 262-264 (1986; Zbl 0589.76147)] a new exact solution is obtained. Some physical and kinematic properties of the cosmological model are discussed.
