Let \(x_{k+1}=G_ k(x_ k)\), \(k=0,1,2,..\). be a nonautonomous difference equation in \({\mathbb{R}}^ n\) and \(x^*\) a common fixed point for all the operators \(G_ k\). Several conditions extending classical results are given such that \(x^*\) is uniformly stable, uniformly attractive, or uniformly exponentially stable. The stability conditions are obtained by majorizing Jacobian matrices in the neighbourhood of \(x^*\). The case when the spectral radii of the Jacobian matrices are uniformly bounded below 1 is investigated in some detail.
