A set A in a topological space is called an \(\alpha\)-set [\textit{D. Njåstad}, Pac. J. Math. 15, 961-970 (1965; Zbl 0137.419)] if \(A\subset Int(Cl(Int A))\). The collection of all \(\alpha\)-open sets is a topology called \(\alpha\)-topology. Combining the topologies and \(\alpha\)- topologies of topological spaces X, Y various kinds of generalized continuity (or irresoluteness) were introduced. The author introduces the strong \(\alpha\)-irresoluteness and studies some properties of strongly \(\alpha\)-irresolute mappings.
