Quasi-Banach spaces which are unique predual (Q1822298)

The uniqueness of the predual of a Banach space E cannot be characterized in the class of Banach spaces. We show that it is however possible to characterize uniqueness of the predual of a Banach space in a bigger class, the class of quasi-Banach spaces with separating dual, where a quasi-Banach space is a vector space with a quasi-norm, complete for this quasi-norm. The characterization of uniqueness in this class is obtained by an easy geometric property of E, namely the denting points are a dense subset of the unit sphere of E. We also obtain a dichotomy result: either the predual is unique in the above mentioned class or there exists an infinite number of preduals.
