The main question connected with the solvability of boundary value problems for the differential equations of infinite order is, whether the corresponding space of energy is nontrivial. The case of Sobolev spaces was considered by \textit{Yu. A. Dubinskij} [see e.g. his monography ''Sobolev Space of Infinite Order and Differential Equations'', (1986; Zbl 0616.46027)]. Defining for the subsequence \(0\leq n_ 0<n_ 1..\). both the class \[ W^{\infty}{\mathcal L}\{\Phi_{n_ k}\}\equiv \{f\in C^{\infty}(R);\sum^{\infty}_{k=0}\int^{\infty}_{- \infty}\Phi_{n_ k}(| f^{(n_ k)}(x)|)dx<\infty \} \] and the corresponding Sobolev-Orlicz space \(W^{\infty}L\{\Phi_{n_ k}\}\) (by means of Luxemburg's norms) the author proves that the necessary and sufficient condition of the nontriviality of \(W^{\infty}{\mathcal L}\{\Phi_{n_ k}\}\) \((W^{\infty}L\{\Phi_{n_ k}\}\), respectively) is the existence of \(q>0\) for which \(\sum^{\infty}_{k=0}\Phi_{n_ k}(q^{n_ k})<\infty\).
