Let \(H^{\infty}\) be the usual Hardy space of bounded holomorphic functions in the unit disc. One of the most important results on inner functions is Marshall's theorem, saying that \(H^{\infty}\) is the (norm) closed linear span of the Blaschke products and therefore of the inner functions. This result would follow if one knows that the set of inner functions is a uniform boundedness deciding set in \(H^{\infty}\). But this problem is open. Therefore the authors consider \(H^{\infty}=(H^{\infty},w^*)\) with the weak star topology. In this case the problem was solved affirmatively in earlier papers of the authors. In the paper under review the authors generalize some of these earlier results and show, under other things, that the set of Blaschke products is a dense \(G_{\delta}\)-set in the closed unit ball of \((H^{\infty},w^*)\).
