Let D be a division ring and \(\phi\) an automorphism of SL(2,D). The author proves that \(\phi\) has the form either \(x\mapsto a^{- 1}x^{\sigma}a\) or \(x\mapsto a^{-1}(x^{\tau})'a\), where \(a\in GL(2,D)\), \(\sigma\) is an automorphism of D, \(\tau\) is an anti- automorphism of D and the ' denotes the transpose matrix. The field case is of course classical. This completes work of a number of Chinese authors (L. Hua, Z. Wan, H. Ren, X. Wu). We refer the reader to the paper for detailed references to works in Chinese.
