Rank-2 vector bundles with many sections and low \(c_ 2\) on a surface (Q1825919)

Let V be a projective variety with \(\dim (V)=n\) and let E be a vector bundle over V with \(rk(E)=n\) and \(t=c_ n(E)>0\). The author defines a new interesting numerical invariant s(E) such that \(n\leq s(E)\leq nt\). Then he shows that the extreme cases \(s(E)=nt\) or \(s(E)=n\) occur only when the pair (V,E) has certain very special properties, i.e. in many such cases complete classification is possible.
