Normal quasihomogeneous surface singularities are either quotients of simple elliptic or hyperbolic singularities. Varying the modulus of the underlying curve of a simple elliptic singularity, one obtains a deformation of highest weight. The aim of this paper is to prove that certain non-quasihomogeneous singularities are deformations of highest weight of the corresponding hyperbolic singularities.
