The authors derive formulae for the probability density function of a busy period, during which k channels are busy. They use procedures described by the second author [Adv. Appl. Probab. 19, 997-998 (1987; Zbl 0632.60098)] and by the second author and \textit{M. Sharafali} [``Transient solution to a many-server Poisson queue: A simple approach.'' (to appear in J. Appl. Probab.)].
