    Let \(f\) be a continuous function on \([-1,1]\) and let \((x_k^{(n) })_{1 \leq k\leq n}(n\in\mathbb{N})\) be a point system on \([-1,1]\) with \(x_\ell^{(n)}< x_{\ell+1}^{(n)}\) for all \(1\leq\ell\leq n-1\). The Hermite-Fejér interpolating polynomials \(H_{2n-1}\) (of degree \(2n-1)\) of this point system for \(f\) are defined by \(H_{2n-1} (x_k^{(n)})= f(x_k^{(n)})\) and \(H_{2n-1}' (x_k^{(n)}) =0\). Recently, the study of the behaviour of the Hermite-Fejér interpolating polynomials in the complex plane has attracted some attention. The authors extend a result of \textit{L. Brutman} and \textit{I. Gopengauz} [Constructive Approximation 15, No. 4, 611-617 (1999; Zbl 0939.41005)], proving that the sequence of polynomials induced by Hermite Fejér interpolation for the identity does not converge to this function in any point of the complex plane outside the interval \([-1,1]\) for every given point system \((x_n^{(k)})_{1\leq k\leq n}\).
