A connection \(\nabla\) is called \(c_i\)-self-dual if its curvature 2-form \(R^\nabla\) is a \(c_i\)-self-dual form \((i= 1,2,3)\); these forms were introduced independently by \textit{M. Mamone Capria} and \textit{S. M. Salamon} [Nonlinearity 1, No. 4, 517-530 (1988; Zbl 0681.53037)] and \textit{T. Nitta} [Tôhoku Math. J., II. Ser. 40, No. 3, 425-440 (1988; Zbl 0663.53055)]\ in the context of holonomy invariant decomposition of the vector bundle \(\wedge^2 T^* M\) on a manifold \(M\). The purpose of this paper is to generalize the Atiyah-Drinfeld-Hitchin-Manin vanishing theorem to some bundles on an arbitrary quaternionic Kähler manifold \(M\) with positive scalar curvature. If \(F\) is a \(c_2\)-self-dual bundle on \(M\) with a unitary structure, \(Z\) is the twistor space of \(M\), \(\widetilde {F}\) is the pullback bundle of \(F\) on \(Z\) then the author proves that \(H^1 (Z, \widetilde{F} (-2)) =0\). The cohomology group is related to the solution space of quaternionic Dirac operators and twistor operators on a quaternionic Kähler manifold. The author also gives some background on the appearance of these operators.
