A numerical approach for a variational formulation of a two-phase Stefan problem is considered. The original problem is replaced by a one-parameter family of smooth parabolic problems. Next, the problem is transformed by replacing the temperature by the enthalpy as new variable and then it is discretized in time by using Rothe's method with frozen coefficients and in space by a finite element approximation. Some convergence properties and an estimate for the discretization error are derived.
